Hi, I’m Natalie Walker, an energetic Mechanical Design Engineer from Hove (UK) and the creator of Dead Cherry Design Ltd. (Website password to my work history is cherry)

I’m the powerhouse that pushes concept consumer products through manufacturing and into mass production. I work with hand-picked partners bringing design and engineering expertise from various sectors, ranging from medical equipment to hygiene products.

My manufacturing facts of life:
- Projects are nearly ALWAYS urgent
- Vision rarely meets manufacturing reality
- Entrepreneurs and technical professionals are (on the most part of it) on completely different wavelengths

I believe that close communication between entrepreneurs, investors and technical contractors can do more than just weather the problems that come out of these facts, it creates an alliance.

I need an alliance with my clients. Period.

Good communication leads to harmonized visions, harmonized visions lead to trust, trust leads to intuitive decision making, and, intuitive decision making leads to bulletproof support – the manufacturing powerhouse!

I like to have a phone call and chat about the idea and get a feel of what stage it's at. Then I can mentally break down the product into all the different parts and put them back together. I mentally manufacture them and stress-test them, then put them in packaging onto my imaginary production line.

It’s an enlightening conversation doing end-of-the-line thinking right at the beginning, and, it is THE best way to paint that manufacturing picture.

The aim is to get accurate timescales to my clients as quickly as possible so they have an idea of what lays ahead. I can also give the lowdown on when costs and lead times come into play.
