MSc Advanced Materials and Additive Manufacturing (Distinction) BEng Mechanical Engineering For my Masters Thesis project I designed an FDM printer modification, improving machine dynamics. I have in depth knowledge of the FDM process and how to optimise for: print speed, strength, and quality. Prize winner in many online 3D printing and design competitions, winning approximately £2000 worth of prizes in the past three years: Polymaker ‘3D printed hook tournament: Second place. A combination of mechanical engineering, creative design and DfAM to create the strongest possible 3D printed polymer hook (no closed loop) weighing less than 50g. During my masters, I had a module based on CAD modelling using Solid Works, where I had successfully submitted a CAD model of an spur gear. Also, had carried out stress analysis on the modelled part. This module has given me an overall proficiency of SolidWorks and capability to work on any task individually. At the same time, I have hands on experience with Matlab. I have successfully presented many Matlab simulated programs using various programming algorithms. For my masters project which was based on ‘Co-deposition of nickel-SiC using Pulse reverse plating techniques to produce nano composites’. Majority of the work was undertaken at the university which made me utilize all the resources and advanced technological equipment like scanning electron microscopy. After course completion, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in the department of engineering. I have assisted in demonstrating mechanical oriented first year labs concerning flow measurements in pipes, and electrical oriented labs based on circuit design and analysis using P Spice. Also, assisted in second year labs helping students to learn about material selection in devices using CES Edupack software, as well as different engineering materials micro structural properties and processing. Furthermore, I have helped in for fourth year module involving conceptual design process for turbofan engines with improvements in aero engine design configurations. Throughout my educational & professional experiences, I have built a rigorous tendency to achieve the best possible results by approaching them with new innovative ideas.

I have held stress signatory status for 8 years, whilst substantiating high integrity, safety critical equipment and structures. I can apply my expertise to metallic, polymer or composite structures and mechanisms in any industry. I have primary interests in remote handling, precision medical devices, fluidics, mechanism design, complex structures and heavy lifting equipment. I enjoy all areas of design; with specific expertise in mechanisms, traditional static and dynamic hand calculations, seismic assessment, FEA, classical mechanics on mechanisms and structures, fatigue and failure investigations and injection moulded product design. I am a good communicator and enjoy presenting to stake-holders. I am an expert user of ANSYS Workbench, RFEM/RSTAB, Solidworks and MathCAD with licenses for all of the aforementioned software. I am a well-rounded individual with a proven track record in a number of diverse industries, including: cranes/heavy lifting equipment and mechanisms, remote handling, bulk materials handling, precision medical devices, aerospace actuators/valves, hydraulics and general consumer products. I regard analysis and mechanical design as integral entities and I offer design by substantiation services, where equipment is designed to be code compliant from it's inception. I have had several of my designs patented and I take pride in pioneering new engineering concepts and technology.
