Description:
I'm developing an electronic appliance for residential use, and am looking for help with the enclosure design. Specifically, I'm looking for help with the exterior design of the enclosure (i.e. just the shell); I can handle the detailed design. The enclosure will be two piece injection molded, with a front and back. I've included cad files (solidworks and step) that captures the dimensions of the internal components and the minimum spacing between the components, along with the target distance of the components from the wall it'll be mounted on. The dimensions in the cad file denote the minimum size including clearance, but the enclosure can be larger if necessary (e.g. wider, taller, etc).
I've attached an example enclosure that is similar to the profile that I'm looking for. You'll notice that it has a softly contoured face, while the back half lofts down to a boss feature to allow for connection to a wall mounting bracket. I plan to use the same approach for mounting. The idea is that you can use the example for inspiration, although it is not intended to be a 1:1 copy.
Specific Requirements:
1. The design must be symmetrical across it's vertical mid-plane (i.e. left and right are the same).
2. The design must have a single plane as a parting line between the front and back parts (i.e. the two halves must have flat faces where they meet).
3. Each part must be moldable, with ideally a minimum draft angle of at least 1 degree. No undercuts or sharp edges which can't be radiused later are allowed.
4. The cylinders shown in the internal components cad file must be completely contained within the back piece of the enclosure.
5. The wall thickness of the enclosure should be 4mm.
The deliverable should be cad files of the two enclosure shell parts. The design must be thickened to 4mm (providing surfaces only won't cut it). Ideally the cad would be native solidworks, but step files are ok if you prefer a different program.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if any more information is needed. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Wants:
Designs will be evaluated on aesthetics, along with meeting the specific requirements listed in the description above.Entries

Hi Kandar,
I don't know what the interface looks like for makers, but there should be an option to submit a design for the contest. Perhaps reading through the help section?

Hi,
对不起,我是新来的。
Do I only offer buyers first?
or directly make a design according to the description and put in an attachment?

Look up UL 2594,EVSE standards. I can't help, conflict of interest.

Yep it's going to have a few light pipes, but I'm going to handle that when I do the detailed design. I'm just looking for aesthetically pleasing shell concepts (which I'm personally terrible at).

Ok, 4 mm thickness then!

Hello, another question. Is it any of the components a led? The example you attached has a power light. Do you want something like this in your appliance?
Buyer
Hi Martin,
Good question. The 4mm is due to external fittings which require a particular wall thickness. There'll also be face seals in certain areas which will need at least 3mm thickness. Most of the off-the-shelf ABS/PC NEMA enclosures are also in the 3-4mm thickness range for the similar enclosure size. So I'm erring on it being more robust than less.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hello Jesser, the 4 mm thickness has a specific purpose? Is it not too thick just for a injection molding enclosure? I mean, it could be thinner (i. e. 1,5mm) with some reinforcement ribs inside. Less weigth, shorter cycle injection time, less cost per unit.
Thanks

Simple 3D SketchUp Project
简单的项目:准确的尺寸和规模not required, just 3d drawing and ability to use SketchUp Software (SU). I will attach 10 photos for a dive site's, which I need redrawing. These photos are the only information available to create the sketches plus my guiding and another three models already created in sketchup for this dive sites. What I expect is an exact copy of the drawings shown in the pictures but if you can make better and clear visualization it will be also accepted. The final files - .skp and stl format so we can be able to print this models. The objects and terrain should be on separate layers to enable easy editing in the future. If you are confident with the project's requirement and you read all the above carefully, please bid and write your accurate delivery time.
New hex dumbbells
Design a range of hexagon shaped dumbbells with an extra cut out for an extra way to grip the dumbbells with two hands. The dumbbell range will be made from cast iron, 7.2 density. A range of six weights. 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25kg. Satin/matte black colour only. The logo debossed into the surface by around 2mm. The smaller weights with a slightly smaller handle length, becoming larger throughout the range. The logo and weight number identification to go wherever there is enough space to have as large as possible. The weights need to be accurate, within a few grams of the designated weight. The main handle diameter is 35mm, tapering down either side to 28mm and rounded back in as it joins the main weight either side. The edges need to be rounded off so they are smooth to grip all around. The cut out grip area ideally needs to be 40mm in height but for the smallest weights thus could be slightly smaller.
BM1AT Redesign
We have a board designed in Kicad with through-hole components and want to replace most of them with SMD counterparts. Board dimensions, terminal blocks and a few more components located around the board's edges cannot be modified. Specifications: Board dimensions: 8.200 x 3.420 inch PCB: 2 layer FR4 1.6mm green Integrated circuits: ATmega1284P-PU (x1), ULN2803 (x2), 74HC595 (x3), CD4021 (x3), DS1307 (x1) and PB82B715P (x1). There is also a piggyback step down buck converter that may be integrated in the main board but this is not important now. Passive components: 66 1/4W resistors, 28 ceramic capacitors, 31 diodes, several plug in terminal blocks and more.
Layout for creative space
Need to find the best use of space for our production company building. The building it 100ftx40ft. The front 15ft is already taken with bathroom and entrance. This leaves on open space of 85ftx40ft of wide open space which we need to fill with as many 8ftx8ft rooms as possible. Each of these rooms must have it's own entry ( no Jack and Jill). These do not have to be finished plans, just an overhead view so we can get an idea of the best use of space.
By The Sea
An existing house is being renovated. We have 2D sketches which have been approved by local council. The pitched roof will be removed and replaced with a flat roof so that a roof terrace is created. This will have views of the ocean and entertaining equipment such as a BBQ and seating / lounge. The existing living area on Level 2 will be extended as shown on drawings and new internal stairs allowing access from Level 2 to the roof terrace. The kitchen, bathrooms, existing floors, lighting etc will all be replaced with new. A garage will be installed on Level 1 (ground floor entry). The house will effectively look totally different from the front with a new entrance, garage and new façade.
