Description:
Hi talented designers –I need your help turning my idea into a more professional prototype. I would like to design a cushion or chair support to help women who have just delivered a baby naturally to sit and rest in a chair more comfortably. Sitting in a traditional chair is very painful because the new mom’s entire rear end is healing.
An ideal design would enable a woman to rest or sit without having contact on any part of her rear end. Ideally it would be adjustable to fit in most chairs, it would be especially helpful for driving or riding in a car. It also should be something with simple lines that can be mass produced for a reasonable cost.
I have a homemade prototype of a support, which works okay, but it needs your help! I will also attach a picture of a booster seat with a design that I really like for reference. A larger version of this booster seat, but with the cushion part of the seat modified, might do the trick! Of course I welcome any other creative designs that you might have.
Having a newborn is so exhausting and having a comfortable seat that keeps pressure off of parts that are healing would be a great relief! Future moms will thank you for your creative ideas and wonderful designs!
Please let me know if you have questions. I am relying on you for recommendations as to software and materials.
Wants:
I would like to be able to have a prototype produced from the winning design. The device must be able to support the weight of an average woman. The device should fit in an average chair. Special consideration will be given to designs that are adjustable. A nice design is key too!
Don't Wants:
一个油炸圈饼形状不会工作,椅子需要be completely open in the back.
Software:
- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
Additional Information
Hello designers! I really like many of your designs and think they would work really great. I appreciate the modifications and extra work many of you have done! I just got some feedback on a few of your designs from some local foam manufacturers and thought I would share. To produce a device with ultimate flexibility and multiple moving parts, like what I had initially envisioned, would be prohibitively expensive. The least costly prototype to create would be something that could be cut out of prefabricated foam. Then if there is enough demand, a molded foam solution might be justified. So I'm wondering if any of your designs could be re-engineered to work with only contour or angle cuts so that I could get an affordable prototype created? Let me know if you have other thoughts on prototype production or any other questions! Thanks!!Entries

hammad - sorry for the confusion - that is just an expression which means to sit down and rest. Her feet can touch the ground, just as in normal chairs.

Hi Lory,
I had almost completed my design, but i've recently read your update. Can you please elaborate on what you mean by " take the load off the feet" ? As in, the sole of the feet shouldn't touch the ground when the woman sits ?

Thanks Jeremy! I think an inflatable version is a great idea to achieve portability. It would be low cost too (at least I think/hope so). I think it could work - just as long as it doesn't turn into a whoopie cushion! :)

Just thinking out loud... I wonder if an inflatable version of this might be a way to achieve the portability element, if it came with a simple pump apparatus.

Shoe Shine Box
I am looking to have a ShoeShine Box Designed. This project is unique in that I am not providing any specs for the box size and design. I am providing you with the products that will be in the ShineBox and several features that need to be incorporated into the design. I require a 3D renderings of the design. The renderings need to show the final design from all sides. Keep in mind, this is a product that will be manufactured. This design requires out of the box thinking. While the Shinebox needs to be functional and sturdy, I need to really emphasize the importance of the look and design of the box. I want it to be a functional piece of art. Just imagine Apple creating a ShineBox. I want the design to be as compact as it can be and still incorporate the required products and features. I am open to any material, except wood. I was thinking steel or brushed aluminum design. The required features: 1)The ShineBox will need to have a plate that can be turned 360 degrees and quickly locked into place. Users will put their shoes on the plate to clean them. 2) The cleaning products will be liquid and the liquid will be applied and used with the shoe brush (see attached picture). The liquid will need a rectangular box, bigger than the brush, to hold a couple ounces of cleaner. The rectangular holder needs to be easily removed for cleaning. 3) A carrying handle. I want the carrying handle disguised so as not to be seen when not in use. Here are the cleaning products that will be in the ShineBox (pictures are attached). 1) 4 - 6 oz. Boston Round Glass Bottles Height 5", Diameter 2.1" 2) 3 Shoe Brushes - Length 3 1/4", Width 1", Height 1 1/4" 3) 1 Mid Sole Brush - Length 5 1/2", Width 1/2", Height 1" 4) 1 Suede Bar - Length 3", Width 1", Height 1". 5) a 12" x 12" Micro Fibre towel. This can obviously folded to fit into a smaller space. I don't care what software is used, but I do want a hyper-realistic 3D rendering.
Keycap Design-Creativity and CAD skill needed
你好我要找别人设计的东西for me, and possibly cast it in resin or other materials for me. For the designing part, you need to know how to model something in CAD and have a file that can be 3D printed. What you are designing requires creativity, and is a mix of art and practicality. What I am looking for is someone who can make a keycap for mechanical keyboards. At the end is some examples of competitors work, so you can get a feel for what I'm looking for. I am looking for original designs that are extremely creative. As for the next steps, I need someone who can make a mold of a 3D printed prototype, and then cast it in resin. For the resin casting, it has to be 1:1 or very close to 1:1 as the final product requires very fine detail and dimensions to properly fit. I am looking for different and fancy colors. If you just know how to use CAD, that's fine, I'll hire you for just that part. If you just know how to cast pieces, that's also fine, and please message me with details. If you just know CAD, then I will pay $300 for a creative design in a 3D printable file format. If you know how to cast resin, then for the initial run, I am looking to purchase 20 each of up to 5 different colors of the same design, for 100 total units. For the units, I will pay $5 per, or $500 for 100 units. If I like the quality, then I will hire you again for many, many more projects. Here are some examples of what competitors are making, I am looking for something generally similar, but original and creative designs. http://www.kultkaps.bigcartel.com/ https://bingecap.com/product-category/archive/ http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,cherrymxkeys&pid=cf5f_sku_3blk $300 will be awarded to the best 3D design, and $200 will be awarded to the second best 3D design. If you can cast the design in resin, please let me know and we will do the order separately.
3D Geometrical jewlery design
我们想创建独特的银首饰for mature and modern women (35-65 years) with taste for fine jewelry, which is minimal, modern and timeless. Icon: celebrating realistic animal figures made with repetitive geometric pattern like triangle, rhombus etc. similar to the Cartier panther ring in the project brief. 1st collection is featuring OWL. Setting: To achieve high jewelry look, use of Channel, Mystery setting and micro pave is highly encouraged. Size and dimensions: Use of OWL head should be between 20mm-45mm across different jewelry elements. Stone Size: As we use semi-precious stones there are no stone size limitations, This project is a test to select right candidates for our on-going long-term project. We welcome talented designers from across the world, but candidates with experience in Italian market would be preferred. Please align your sketch with us, before proceeding to 3D modeling. Files to be in STL and 3DM format.
FEM Foam Project
Objective is to construct and replicate (to a high degree of accuracy) the experimental compressive test results for a foam specimen in Abaqus. Please find the attached file with the product dimensions and experimental test data. Upon the succesful completion of this project, additional work will be granted to the designer. We will require the Abaqus project file with the stress strain plots to ensure that the project tasks have been met.
Modeling & Graphic Design for a Modern Landfill
We are looking for some one to design a complete landfill for use on our Tradeshow booth. We are looking for someone who can layout the entire site. From the waste cell to the roads, to the working face of the landfill and Leachate systems, liners etc. We would also like to incorporate our equipment and products into the design. This is mostly for Leachate. What we are attempting to do is show how to Waste Companies can handle their leachate to save money. There are 3 steps to this process. The first is minimization. We have developed a spray on solution that will repel water from the side slopes of the landfill and on the flat top of the landfill. Ideally we show a rain cloud raining down on the side of the landfill here and then we can have our graphic artists do bubbles on the rendering showing where that product is used. The second part we do is pre-treatment. We have designed a system that can process and clean the leachate. The leachate is pumped from the bottom of the landfill to holding tanks where we clean it from there it goes to Leachate ponds where our Evaporation Misting Equipment evaporates the water. We also have the leachate evaporated inside buildings. Ideally we want to show the daily operations of a landfill and where all of our products are used on that landfill. Visiting our website will give you a very in-depth look at what we do Attached are some samples of how landfills have been rendered in the past as well as a top view of a modern landfill in California. Also included is a aerial photo of a landfill cell being built with liner and a side view of all the layers that go into a landfill. If you have any questions or need more details please leave note This image will be blown up to fit a booth that is 5'6" high and 113" wide
