Description:
A De Laval nozzle for supersonic kinetic spraying.
Wants:
Nozzle dimensions (mm):- Inner diameter: 10
- Throat diameter: 6
- Exit diameter: 8.8
- Length of the converging section: 40
- Length of the diverging section: 100
The above dimensions must be exact. However the size and shape of the nozzle externally is left up to you, considering the following:
350°C air enters the nozzle at 6 bar. It is connected to the air compressors 1/2" male adapter. Therefore a 1/2" female thread will be needed to connect the parts together.
Suspension liquid enters the gas flow in the supersonic part of the nozzle and is atomized by the gas cross-flow. The tube connected to nozzle which supplies the suspension has a 1/4" male adapter, so a 1/4" female thread will be needed.
The design does not need to include the female threads as they will be added after the CNC process (another version of the design showing these [threads] would be favorable). Just know that the space and position of these threads will need to be factored into your design.
Thank you very much.
P.S. The software used for the CNC process is unknown at the moment, so if at all possible, please include a few of the most popular file types.

- AutoCAD

Maybe next time, you'll give us all a chance to upload something Ribbotech ;) I didn't had time today, but tomorrow I would have uploaded something...your loss :P

嗨ribbotech,我个人没有任何问题bout the premature ending. i think if you get what u want in just 2-3 day then why to wait for a whole month. its completely OK but i feel after seeing your end submission date many designers might have postponed there designing to some later time (as i did) knowing they had a whole month to model your project. anyway, again saying i am totally ok with this in fact eagerly waiting for your future projects to be posted here.
thanks and regards.
pardon me if you find any grammatical error in what i wrote!

You are right, I ended prematurely! I nooby mistake that I will not make again. I didn't realize the attention this would get and that people were working on the project without me knowing.

ended!! but the contest end date is 6th of October and this is September, if i am not wrong ;)

WOW!
What a fantastic first experience with this site.
I am so grateful to all of you who helped, you won't be forgotten ...Many more projects to come!

The functional parameters have already been considered. If the nozzle dimensions are followed precisely, everything should work as planned.
我还想请注意两件事after reviewing the current designs submitted.
1) The 2 threads connecting the nozzle to the other parts of our device can be male or female threads at any standard size, as we can use couplers/adapters to fit them together here. I don't want this to inhibit your designs.
2) The inlet that receives the suspension needs to have a 3mm inner diameter when it enters the chamber.

Hello Ribbotech,
Are you interested only in visual improvements or also functional?
If you aim the functionality (parameters) then is a little more complicated as the aerodynamics in such devices is very complicated and there are several effects involved (Venturri, Coanda, particle dispersion, etc) and this is possible to achieve only with a CFD analysis.
If your interest is only for external design, there is no problem and the file will be neutral CAD (iges, sat, step).

Visually, the nozzle looks better than I could have imagined.
Solidworks will be fine.
It seems like the suspension enters the nozzle before the air goes supersonic (after the throat, in the diverging section).
The air needs to enter directly from the rear (in the convergent section) and there needs to be room to add a female thread adapter without compromising the air inlet.
Adding the flow straightener is a nice idea. Could you include a version with and without this?
At a glance, the sizes look disproportionate, but that could just be me. Please make sure that the dimensions in the spec are 100% perfect.
Thank you for your great work.

Hey Ribbotech,
If the software to be used with the CNC is not known at the moment, would it be ok if the design is made it Solidworks?

UAV designs
I am looking for a design on an unmanned aircraft which will have a flight time of over 1hr. It must be able to carry a weight of 7kg and a camera. I know there are loads of uav's on the market so if someone can come up with the 3D plans that then can be made to a working model. I am looking along similar lines as the scan eagle etc. The best design may possibly lead to a private agreement to design a helicopter also.
The first drink sling ever made - Freelance 3D modeler, CAD designer
designing a drink that goes on your wrist wanting a sleeve or sling that can fit a juice pouch simmilar to capri sun you can design the pouch any way long as easy to fit in sling or sleeve and remove has a drink spout for the straw wich is lijke a water bottle top but better drink pouch 6.25 ounces or smaller
Mixer Tank Design
Design a stainless steel mixer tank of about 9000litres for blending sugar molasses with water prior to fermentation. Suggested dimension of tank is: Height = 1.52 metres Diameter = 2.72metres Please specify agitaor capacity etc. Tank should be dished bottom with very gently slope for easy of emptying.
The gentlemans shaver
We need a design for a shaver handle. The design should have an exclusive look to it, not "spacey" as many established brands are. Keywords for the design could be "gentleman, scandinavian, hipster, modern man, elegant, James Bond, simple" and such. What we need is a design made in CAD, and ultimately files ready for production, our current setup requires .dwg or .dwt files. But we would like to see an realistic 3d render of the handle. There are though some specifications for the connection between the handle and the razor blades that should be met. Since the connection is an standard set of from our razor-blade production partner. In the attached files there are an example of an handle and the lock mechanism, so the way the blades are connected and the sliding lock works should be thought into the design. It's for the scandinavian market, so the design should fit in there, and should ofcourse have a good grib, size and weight to it. We have a target weight of minimum 50-60gr to the handle.
Intricate Wings Design
- Small wings design based on a 2D picture provided - Each wing to be separate with a little loop at the top so as to have a necklace looped through the top - Must be able to be 3D printed - Jewellery will be made from a white metal which will be 3D printed (by Shapeways.com) - Design end product must have the layers so as to depict the image as set out by the 2D file provided
